About the club
How often do you dive?

The Grand Opening for diving season for the club starts on the Easter weekend, for Guildford Sub-Aqua Club this normally means a trip to Cornwall for 4 days. Typically we will have tried to dive in the month leading up to this to test the boats.
We dive regularly from then until the end of the season and weather permitting, it is rare to find a week-end when the club is not diving.

The season typically ends at the end of October when the weather becomes too unpredictable for diving.
During the "closed season" some training  typically at Stoney Cove or Horsea Island  continues to happen.

What does club membership give me?

Joining Guildford-BSAC primarily makes you part of an active diving club. Not only do we dive often but we also do a wide variety of diving. We have an active social programme (particularly over the winter) which ranges from trips to breweries to lectures on diving related topics; paintballing to visits to the dive show and of course our sensational Christmas party.

Additionally joining the club entitles you to:-

  • Hiring the club equipment (free during training)
  • Diving from the soft boats at club rates (usually £7 per dive)
  • Access to the schedule of hard boat dives
  • Free air fills from our compressor (costing around £2.50 a fill from a dive shop)
  • Unlimited access to our training programme
  • Use of the Spectrum swimming pool on Tuesday evenings (both for training and "fitness" swimming)

When you join the club part of the fee is for joining the BSAC itself, this gives various benefits including:-

  • 3rd party insurance cover
  • Free copy of "Dive" magazine each month
