New Members

I would like to offer a very warm welcome to Jolene Stone and Andrew Doherty who both joined the club last night. Jolene is a trainee whereas Andrew is an Advanced Diver and an OWI. Welcome to the club guys you won’t regret it. J

17th May This Weekend

We have a great, fantastic super dooper hard boat trip on Skin deeper. Have you seen the weather forecast for the weekend? It is bing bong, the sea will be like a mirror and the sun will be shining, what more could you want? And you will be diving the spectacular M2. There is still one space available for the Saturday and four spaces on Sunday, so if you cannot make the whole weekend, then come along for one day.

Late May Bank Holiday

Plans are afoot to organise a day diving at Kimmeridge on the Saturday and also a couple of days at Selsey on the Sunday and Monday, Please check your emails for details.

Please don’t spend the whole weekend sitting on your arse. Come diving, you never know you might actually enjoy yourself.

Training

- Instructors needed! There are ocean diver and sports diver theory and
pool work going on over the next few weeks. This is ideal for those
with an IFC to practice their skills, as well as OWIs (or higher).

- For sports divers and above - want to keep your own skills in tip top
condition and help others experience the joys of diving? Why not sign
up for an instructor foundation course? Speak to Hannah for further details.

Likewise if you are an instructor (OWI) or above and would like to take you skills to the next level then come and talk to me (Dave) about joining the regional coaching team.

Kit Servicing and Skills Review

Your dive kit is your life support system, please treat it seriously. Please get it serviced. Please spend at least one evening between now and Easter practicing your own personal diving skills.

Mistakes happen through complacency, please ensure that all of your kit has been properly serviced and that you are comfortable using it.

Easter

No medical = No dive, simples. Please can everybody ensure that their medicals are up to date, if you have any queries please contact Chris Day.

We are looking for one person to tow one of the boats down to Cornwall for the Easter trip, if you are able to help please contact Nick Fox.

There will be a briefing about Easter at the club house on Tuesday 15th April at 8.30pm. Please can all those who are planning on coming along at Easter make the effort to attend. Jens and Corinna, you guys are exempt J

This year Easter the weekend of 20th April. Every year the club relocates to Porthustock in Cornwall for the Easter holiday. For more information about this trip, details of accommodation and the type of diving that you can expect please speak to Dave or Jerry or see the dedicated page on the clubs web site.

Duncan has two spaces on his “pre-Easter” dive to the Mulberry, this dive site is 8m and is absolutely perfect for trainees and newly qualified Ocean divers who would like some experience of diving in the sea and using one of the club ribs.

If you are undecided about joining Duncan check out the weather forecast, it is going to be hot and sunny with light winds, absolutely fantastic conditions to go diving, and certainly beats being dragged around Sainsburys by the Mrs. If you are interested in this dive trip please contact Duncan.

A huge thank you to everybody who last night volunteered to Marshall a days diving this summer J
