Vobster - Last Thursday, five of us had a great day diving at Vobster.

It’s a cracking inland venue - if you haven’t been, I recommend it.

 

Easter weekend - Some great diving was had over Easter – 10m vis, flat calm seas, Thorn back rays galore – even Dolphins!

Thanks to Dave for marshaling and Duncan & Dave for towing.

Next Tuesday 31st March: please can everybody who is going down for Easter please come along to the club for 7.30pm and help prep the boat. There will also be a brief meeting at the club at 8.30pm just to outline/ confirm where and when we will meet on Good Friday.

 

Thurs 2nd April: A few divers are heading to Vobster to check equipment and practice skills. Contact JP if you’re interested in joining us.

Easter - Friday April 3rd – Monday April 6th

 

The sun is shining and Cornwall beckons for our first major softboat weekend this year, so get your name down to join this great weekend.  More details on the club website, if you have room available in a cottage please send a note to the club email list.

 

This is a great weekend to open the season, it is open to all with diving to suit all grades.  It is also a very social event and we look forward to seeing everyone in the 3 Tuns over the Easter weekend.

May Bank Holiday – Saturday May 2nd – Monday May 4th

We will be keeping one of our boats at the main marina in Portland over the summer, commencing with the May Bank Holiday.  Come and join us for this inaugural weekend.   Plenty of accommodation nearby and an excellent weekend to get out and on the many reefs and wrecks around Portland and Weymouth.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Late May Bank Holiday – Saturday 23rd – Monday 25th May

We will be in Dorset again for the late May bank holiday, with one boat based in Portland and the other possibly around Kimmeridge, subject to weather and the inclination of divers.

We need marshals for some of the weekends in April and May.  The DO and Training Teams will help with planning and organisation, so do step forward, it is great fun and much easier than you expect, especially now that we have a boat in Portland ready to go out at any time.

Please can everybody who fills their cylinder using the clubs compressor, please fill out the log sheet that is on the wall adjacent to the filling station. We only need basic information, for example…..

The servicing of the compressor is organised around the number of hours it has been used, and the information recorded allows us to arrange the servicing at the correct times.

I have been asked by a member of the Kayak club to see if anybody would be interested in helping one of their members who dropped his i-phone in the river. They know where the phone is and would appreciate some help with recovering it. If you are able to help, please contact Tim 07796 154285

The Easter Trip is 3rd – 6th April, This year, like the last, the club will be visitingSt Keverne in Cornwall. For more information please see the DOs board on a Tuesday evening or look at the link on the clubs website.

The only difference to previous years is that the club will be basing itself at Porthkerris instead of Porthustock.

 

If you are planning on coming along for the (long) weekend, please inform Dave Culver, as this will help enormously with the planning.
